Seeing BZPower ‘s recent article reminded me that I’ve also seen some Brickmaster themed books in some book stores, Barnes And Noble in particular. Each book has a compartment with a good number of parts that I don’t think came from an actual by-mail-subscription, and multiple instructions for those parts to build a number of unique sets. I’ve seen Star Wars, LEGO® Atlantis, and one more from a medieval theme I cant quite place the name of. I’ve also seen a number of other books, including an exclusive minifigure, like a book dedicated to all the LEGO Star Wars® sets. I remember hearing something about Brickmaster subscriptions where you get sets from one particular theme instead of a random gift, so maybe this is a manifestation of that plan? .
