Mask of Destiny staff were made aware on September 19 2026 of multiple instances in which Vahkiti sexually harassed two individuals. Vahkiti stepped away from Mask of Destiny, in the understanding he was no longer welcome. His administrative privileges have been revoked.

In September, we did not share the reasons for his departure. This was out of respect for the victims’ wishes. Since that time, the information has become widely spread, and we are now able to acknowledge what happened.

Vahkiti was, in many ways, the face of Mask of Destiny. And this was not in a positive sense, even before this information reached us. I’ve spoken with several others over the years who shared my frustration with Vahkiti’s domineering attitude in seemingly every interaction. He used isolation to make those around him feel trapped into following along with whatever he pushed for. He made people fear retribution from himself and all the many BIONICLE community members that appeared to be behind him. In the end, he was just manipulating people to hoard attention and influence for himself.

We regret that the position of power Vahkiti held through Mask of Destiny enabled such disgusting abuse. We hope that his departure will give the people hurt by him space to heal.
