October BMP Updates

It’s a frightening night of goblins and creatures and warlocks… why brave those chilly autumn streets? Instead, you could look at some BIONICLE things. Well, maybe go out and have fun first actually. The BIONICLE will be here when you’re back.

Up first, we have a couple new Ameet book additions… sort of! In reality, two of these books are half-new, half-familiar… a liminal state, much like a ZOMBIE (halloween). They’re cooler than Zombies, though. The books are Voya Nui (available in French) and Mahri Nui (available in Dutch). The trick of these books is that they actually compile pages from other Ameet books we already host in the archive! Voya Nui includes pages from Piraka and Inika, while Mahri Nui has pages from Barraki I and Mahri I. Why do these books exist? It seems some regional publishers were interested in the material Ameet had on offer, but were not willing to go all-in with multiple books. So instead, we get these anthologies that cover more products in one package. Both books were published by a children’s label called Hemma. Voya Nui is courtesy of ToaKebaka in their ongoing scanning series, while Mahri Nui actually comes from another source. A whole cache of them were discovered by Legomanjan, who shared on reddit. One of these many copies reached the hands of Joris Buis, who took the time to make excellent 600dpi scans. Thank you to them both!

ToaKebaka sent in one other thing recently: The Ameet book with maybe the most mainstream recognizability, G2’s Quest for the Masks of Power! This scan is of the original Polish edition. As ever with Ameet, this activity book is exacting in following the style guide set out for it. It seems a bit more activity-heavy than the G1 entires, maybe reflecting the younger demographic G2 was aiming for. Watch out for SPIDERS in it, though! There’s even a lord of them…

The next few updates are tied into a Halloween ‘treat’: A big chunk of our video game collection has now moved to the new site! Almost everything is in place now for 2005-2010, minus some ancillary media for games like VNOG. Those will be migrated soon. In the meantime, there’s a laundry-list of music updates that’s HAIR-RAISINGLY SPOOKY:

  • BIONICLE Heroes soundtrack updates
    • DS: Updated to WAV files from the composer.
    • GBA: Added in original tracker files from the composer.
    • Mobile Phone: Redone with original MIDI files and FLAC files playing the tracks on a period-appropriate font.
  • Other mobile phone game sountrack updates

That’s not all for games, either… back from the dead like some kind of SCARY GHOST, the objectively worst game, Draw a Piraka, has a 3rd edition that has been missing from our archive all of these years. I’ve pulled a copy from archive.org to add to our download. Thank you to Medium bluish violet Marker for pointing this out to us! If you can believe it, version 3 feebly offers itself as an actual ‘game’, that you can finish if you play well enough. I don’t really think it’s worth the risk of being flashbanged, personally, but the choice is yours.

Piruk found an interesting artifact, entombed on archive.org like some sort of MUMMY. It’s a CD-ROM that Eidos handed out to press at GC2006, with some notes on their upcoming titles. That includes BIONICLE Heroes! Download and discover The Art of Gaming……

I hope these updates will SATISFY YOUR CRAVING FOR BLOOD (if you are a VAMPIRE). If you are not a VAMPIRE, I hope they will satisfy you normally!
