Today we begin the launch of M&L’s first-ever 2004-era adventure! The latter 2004-era comics feature Nuju, Onewa, and Whenua led to captivity by the ruthless Vahki. But outside of this brief glimpse at their whereabouts, we know nothing of their fate until it is revisited in Legends of Metru Nui. What came of their escape plan? How did they lose their weapons? What’s this about a canonical, never-before-seen enemy from Metru Nui?
Coming hot off the heels of our 2004 comic novelizations, we are thrilled to reveal this brand-new adventure, drafted first by Michael Larson and expanded by our team! As we settle into the year of the twentieth-anniversary of 2004, we can think of no better time to launch this exciting tale of the forgotten Toa.
Much like the comics of Vakama, Nokama, and Matau, this story, which centers on Nuju, Onewa, and Whenua, will come in a few parts that will progressively unfold the story over the coming weeks. Once those are complete, we will debut BIONICLE Adventures 3.5: Enemies of Metru Nui, containing the full expanded story of the Toa Metru from their arrival at the Coliseum to their reunion in the Prison of the Dark Hunters. Combined, this adventure will have the content of a full BIONICLE novel, and much as how the first two BIONICLE Adventures novels expanded on the early chapters of Legends of Metru Nui, this story will represent an expansion on the stories of the Toa on the run.
