MOC: Samurai

This is a MOC by ManVizsla

At first glance, ManVizsla’s Samurai looks very complicated, though it actually uses a great design trick. When you examine it more closely, you can see there are several highly detailed sections spread out across simpler ones, using the excellent gold and green colorscheme to blend the less complex sections together into something that looks much more ornate as a whole. I love how effective this is. The higher detailed areas use some great building techniques too, like using the parts with bar connectors to make some of the best articulated hands I’ve ever seen, and the belt that holds the larger armor plates over the Samurai’s waist/hips. ManVizsla has several shorts showcasing this MOC with different weapons and poses, I don’t want to spoil them all on MoD, so be sure to check them out here on his youtube channel.

On the topic of constructive criticism, I feel like the armor on the lower legs could use some work, and the feet are very basic too. I wonder if replacing the larger hero factory plates with rounded slopes would work better, and maybe building some more ornate looking feet with just a touch of green and gold?

ManVizsla only has shorts of the Samurai uploaded at this time, though I’m hoping we will see more on his channel before long.
