MOC: Inago

This is a MOC by Timeline15

Excerpt: Caelis Prime’s chosen representative is Inago; a hero who was instrumental in the rebellion that gave the Hitobatta their freedom. More of a fighter than a diplomat, Inago is nervous about this new calling, but will rise to meet any challenge if it means helping his people. He is now bound for the very centre of Council space, to meet the individuals he will have to contend with in the years to come…

The colors and design are just about perfect on this MOC. It’s not often I see one that makes me think I would be happy with a brick based BIONICLE line. To be fair, the skeleton is mostly technic and CCBS, though the system parts stand out more than the rest. The spiny libs which mimic certain insects like grasshoppers (with part 32828 I think?) and angling the claws on the toes to mimic ant-like feet are brilliant ideas. The robot arms, especially on the torso, help give Inago a chitinous appearance. I think Timeline even used sausages to get some of the curved robot arm structures. I don’t want to spoil the entire MOC, so Ill send you to Timeline15’s Bluesky and Instagram pages to see more of Inago and read his unabridged background story.

As for constructive criticism, the MOC does look a bit frail in a few places, though that appears to have been a necessity for Inago’s design. I can’t say I like “illegal” connections with some of the robot arms clipped onto eachother, though mostly because I’ve had a few of those parts break on legal connections and worry they will be damaged. If I want to see anything improved in particular though, I would suggest working on the hands and fingers. I feel like there has to be a better looking design than the usual t-valve, something that would compliment the design of the feet better.

You can see more of Timeline15’s work here on Instagram and Bluesky. He has many styles of MOCs with varying levels of complexity, often showcasing some exceptional greebling tricks.
