MOC: Gogul, Toa of Iron

This is a creation by Bimbi

Here’s the other #Lego #Bionicle MoC I’ve been working on: Gogul, the rebuilt Toa of Iron! His mask has the power of “perfect motion” and his tool is a powered battle saw. Only his mask is custom, all the other parts are from the Team Kanohi Parts Pack (by @masksofpower on twitter).

Gogul’s design has a lot of interesting features. The rusty brown colorscheme with teal details is a perfect combination. Nearly everything is custom built and gives the character a steampunk/rusty pipe design I think is well suited to a toa of iron. The torso even mixes both “odd” and “evenly” measured parts, which is uncommon in BIONICLE/Technic. The shoulders are especially nice in my opinion, reminding me of the Varia suit’s larger shoulders from the Metroid series. Please check out Bimbi’s post on Bluesky to see and read more about this creation.

As for constructive criticism, I don’t see much that I would change. I’d maybe try to fill in the gaps in the kneecaps and bulk up the lower arms just a bit, maybe sandwhich the lower arm sockets between the two rounded plates instead of being on one side of them? This is another of those characters that I think looks great as-is, though I would love to see a revamp down the line.

You can find Bimbi here on Bluesky. There is not a lot of Bionicle content on their account at this time, though if Gogul and Bovaru are any clue, we can look forward to more great Stud.io creations.
