Myths and Legacy is proud to present our 2006 20th anniversary celebration!
As we teased a couple weeks ago, we are launching our 2006 serials! Where we have previously pushed the story forward with Vision of the Great Beings, now we’re going to push that story back!
For some of us at M&L, the absence of online stories during the first year of the Ignition Trilogy has always felt like a glaring oversight, particularly considering just how much happened off-screen in this time. How did Krakua learn of Karzahni’s escape? What made the Shadowed One go from tolerating Roodaka to sending the Toa Nuva after her? How was Spiriah captured by the Order of Mata Nui? How did Lariska and Ancient learn of the Order of Mata Nui? What battles happened between the Dark Hunters and the Brotherhood of Makuta in their war on the eve of the Destiny War? What happened around Metru Nui during this time (and before Heart of Metru Nui?) All these questions and more, hinted at throughout the Dark Hunter guide, Bionicle World, and the BEU, have remained mysteries… until now.
Here, in the last nine weeks of 2026, for our 20th anniversary celebration of the 2006 story, the Myths and Legacy team is proud to present the lost 2006 serials! Written by Jeff Douglas and Kirika Aeon, these stories will form the true starting point of the Bionicle serials and formally bridge the Matoran Universe of 2005 with that of 2006. Without Kirika, none of this would have ever happened, and stay posted after these are released for an exciting prequel story filling out the adventures of Ancient and Lariska!
Each of these stories can be read and enjoyed individually without requiring the others. However, we recommend reading all four in parallel as some stories will drop clues or feature minor crossovers with others. One chapter from each of the four stories will release each week, and we recommend reading a chapter from Krakua’s story, then a chapter from Dweller’s, then a chapter from Lariska’s, and lastly a chapter from Roodaka’s.
The Twilight Herald: A lone Toa of Sonics is tasked with tracking down and uniting the last Toa against the darkness. But most who still live are deep in hiding and have forgotten what it is to be a Toa. Can Krakua find anyone t o help his cause or is it already too late?
He Who Watches: Much happens across the city of Metru Nui, from secret Turaga councils to covert Dark Hunter operations. Dweller sees it all.
Spy War: When Gatherer turns up in a coma and Tracker goes missing, Lariska must journey to the mysterious land of Nynrah to uncover what happened. But as she pulls back the curtain, she’ll get more than she bargained for, uncovering a secret power the could save the world… or destroy it.
The Once and Future Queen: Deposed from her position atop the Visorak Hordes, Roodaka plays double agent to the Dark Hunters and the Brotherhood of Makuta as she waits for a chance to reclaim power. Now she’ll be sent by both groups after an object with the power to undo what happened in Metru Nui and land her back at the top: the Heart of the Visorak.
We are so excited to start this adventure with you and to reveal this unseen saga!
