Mask of Light Concept Art & More

Today we’ve added in the rest of the concept art located by TuragaHordika. This includes a smattering of Mask of Light concept art, from the portfolios of artists Richard Yeh, Tyler Gentry, and Leon Gor. The Gor and Yeh pieces were actually submitted to us by Beeslow a while ago, but with two people pointing them out it felt like it was time to add them! In addition to this, Gary Clair’s portfolio side had some additional The Legend Reborn art I missed in the first run last week. See even more Click concepts below!

YouTube user Vidachestvo Archive has uploaded another Russian commercial sourced from Betacam – like the last, it is unfortunately upscaled and blurry. This one’s a bit of a curiousity, it’s a 30s combo commercial for the Bohrok-Kal, Rahkshi, and high price point 2003 sets. Thanks to TamarUp for pointing this out to us!

CobyCat located a Dutch version of a Quest for the Masks ad, which has been added to the QFTM page. I’ve also mirrored a photo and scan of a gift box from the 2004 Birthday Express lineup, originally shared on reddit by Greshthecat.

Here’s something cool shared by Piruk – a pamphlet with instructions for a couple of the Japanese / Korean Rahkshi combos! This is from the Korean Mask of Light DVD (we’ll be adding the rest of Piruk’s scans of the packaging for this soon).

Last up for today, another Mask of Light production item sent in by TuragaHordika. Tim Eldred has shared a full sequence that he boarded – specifically, Takua and Jaller’s trip along the Onu-Koro Highway, and Makuta’s bargain with Takua. There is a fair bit here that was ultimately cut from the film! How many times does Takua hit his head on a rock?!

  1. Loving all this! Nice to have nostalgia. 🙂 Pewku choosing between Jaller and Takua, and then picked Takua. I wish that had happened in the movie (I guess this is what happens when a movie is direct-to-video rather than theatrical. Short runtime, no room for extra scenes).

Here’s a bonus: Good thing that I also found this Gary Clair page for Hero Factory: https://garykclair.wixsite.com/mysite/lego-hero-factory .

It’s not often we get concept art stuff. Lol. 🙂
