BIONICLE (Console, PC, and Mac, 2003) has made the move over to the new site! Check the page out, it’s pretty nifty. With this comes a rush of updates related to the game, including scans of some France-edition covers and discs, courtesy of Piruk:
TuragaHordika located a portfolio vid from a prolific artist on the game, Enrique Barahona. We’ve produced an edited version of the video with only the BIONICLE content, which you can view to the left. There are animations for several unused mechanics demonstrated here, such as block-pushing and ledge-grabbing. There’s even a full set of the very early test animations from Lewa’s more set-accurate days! Previously only snippets of these animations were known from other sources. Download link (469.55MB)
I took this opportunity to clear the BMP Backlog of everything related to BIONICLE (Console, PC, and Mac, 2003) as well. This means a couple of exciting additions. For one, Hexadecimal Mantis was given MP3s of most of the game’s soundtrack directly from the composers, Bob & Barn! This is the first time the background music for the FMVs has been heard without the rest of the audio mixing overlaying it. To complete the set, I ripped the two missing tracks (‘Demo’ and ‘Nuva’) from the FMVs – thankfully the ‘Nuva’ FMV never had any sound effects or dialogue over it anyway. Download link (161.55MB)
The other Backlog addition is some concept art for Le-Wahi, found by Brickome and ShadowDraikana on a website called ‘spong’. These are quite low res, but they’re legible! Take a look at all those ideas they never used…
If you hate BIONICLE (Console, PC, and Mac, 2003) and never want to think about it again, we still have some updates for you today! BoxTurret took on the daunting task of scanning all of their materials related to the Quest for the Masks trading card game – which means we now have a mostly complete card gallery, in better quality than the old Screenguy scans. In addition, BoxTurret contributed scans of several peripheral media, including the game boards, some print ads, and sticker. I happened to grab the Rahi Challenge solicitation flyer on eBay recently myself, so I scanned that and added it to this update. Our QFTM collection is now VERY healthy – there’s too much to embed in this news post, but you can browse through it all on the game’s page.
Thanks to NyarahGhost for some contributions making this update possible!
