I recently acquired a 35mm film print that originally existed to be screened in some movie theater in Texas. It’s a copy of the Bohrok teaser! This is the first time any Bohrok footage has been publicly available online in HD, which is kind of SU-per cool (you know, like krana Su).
The film was digitized by the experts at Kineko Video, and all post-processing/color correction was handled by me. A big thanks also goes to my friend Jaina, who spotted this film for sale on eBay. I probably would have missed it otherwise.
You can download the release copy, and the raw film scan, on the Bohrok commercials page.
…now, I couldn’t stand to *only* release this trailer today. Here’s a BMP Backlog addition too – A fresh copy of the Bohrok VHS tape (aka Die Legende Lebt). There are some quality of life updates here that I hope will make this the definitive release.
There’s a funny sequence of events behind this one. I got a copy of the tape to digitize, but then my work was superseded by a higher quality submission from Slumber. Then, THAT was superseded by a still better digitization sent in by someone else. Here is where things ended up:
- New, better digitization of the video, donated to BMP anonymously
- Now available to view/download without letterboxing
- Subtitles added for those who don’t speak German! The voiceover was transcribed by Gatanui many years ago, and I cleaned that transcription up then converted it into subs
- Stock music used in the video, sourced by Vahkiti
- Scans of the video case/cassette, taken from my personal copy. These honestly need to be re-done but that’s a project for another day
Download options for everything are available on the video’s page.
