X Marks The Spot

The TRU poster map has the most detailed layout of MATA NUI island that I’ve seen so far (admittedly, I don’t have the CCG map, so I don’t know how it compares) It shows where each village is located, which is about as complicated as the rest of the maps get. It also mentions that the SUVA shrines are located in their respective villages. From there, it starts showing completely new locations, like the various temples, where each TOA landed, over a dozen basic geographic features, and the main shrine that is depicted in the videos from the TOA mini-CD.

The bottom of the poster, like with the KANOHI poster, is a coupon that someone evidentally believed we’d all be willing to chop off to participate in the Battle of the Beasts on October 19th. If you haven’t noticed the trail yet, you buy a BIONICLE™ item to get the KANOHI poster, then buy another BIONICLE™ item and hand in the coupon from the first poster to get the copper HUNA and the map poster, and then finally hand in the coupon from the second poster to play with MANAS crabs and maybe get a free CD with a demo version of the upcoming PC game. If you miss any of those steps, the result is supposed to be that you are shut out from any of the following promotions. The weird thing is that the poster promotion runs through the 20th, but the coupon is only good on the 19th.

Anyways, from what I hear, most TRU stores didn’t actually require you to bring the coupon back for the MASK giveaway, so they probably won’t require you to bring the coupon in for the MANAS fight.

Lastly, I’ve heard that some TRU stores did not have the copper HUNA MASKS to give out at this time. If that is the case with your local store, they probably gave them all away in early September, since all of the printed promotional sources listed the giveaway date as September 8th. If you can get to any other stores in your area, it might be worth checking them out to see if they found out the new date before giving out their entire supply.
