Ribbit!

Above you can see images of the GHEKULA frog.
You can build one by combining parts from the GAHLOK and LEHVAK sets and using these instructions , though you have to be signed up with the online LEGO® Club to view them. (Membership is free, of course, so there’s no excuse for not signing up, assuming parental approval is not necessary)

I love frogs, and it’s really cool to see a buildable one added to the BIONICLE™ line (The MAKIKA CAVE TOAD was introduced in the first GBA game, but the images were too small to build from) and it’s also interesting to see new official creations that use the BOHROK pieces, and this one is very interesting considering it’s made with parts from only two BOHROK sets. I would have prefered an all-green one, but given how much better the GAHLOK hand-shields work for webbed feet than LEHVAK ones, I’m happier with a two-tone frog.

One serious problem that I do have it is how the ball-joints work for display purposes. Kids who are playing with it shouldn’t experience this problem, but the ball-joints are so stiff that it’s really hard to get all four feet to sit flat on the ground at the same time. Still, it is possible, if you work at it.

Anyways, the four legs are obviously articulated, and the BOHROK faceplate covers an orange KRANA, though the faceplate is oriented opposite of the brain-pan, so the KRANA is tremendously prone to falling out as soon as it sees a chance to make a break for it.

The coolest part of the design, though, is the mouth. As you can see in the image above, there is a LEHVAK eye mounted to the right side of the torso. Flipping it up causes the gigantic mouth to open very wide (you can actually get it to open at least 90 degrees), though it sometimes results in the tongue (made of the other LEHVAK eye) flipping backwards and down through the lower jaw.
