ChiktChiktChiktChiktChiktChiktChiktChiktChikt…

First we have a shot of the card table. When I arrived, there was one family trying out the CCG demo. The mother was learning how to play the game, the two boys who were playing the game were arguing about why anything that didn’t result in an advantage for themselves was obviously against the rules, and the daughter was largely disinterested in what her two brothers were doing. And the store-clerk looked like he was not entirely sure how to deal with this situation. After the family moved on, I chatted with him a bit, and it turns out that was the only demo game he ran all day. Everyone else just showed up for the free loot. They had a kit-box tucked under the table, and I was able to catch that it had 300 GAHLOK KRANA on the list of contents. I didn’t catch how many promo card-packs they were giving out, but as we reported yesterday, they each contained one of three GAHLOK-specific foil cards. Pretty cool if GAHLOK is your favorite breed, but it would have been nice to see some more variety. Maybe we’ll see other events throughout the year that will cover the other five breeds.

Next we have a shot of the KRANA poster. You can get one free with any purchase of a BIONICLE™ set. I noticed on my receipt that they actually charged a penny for the poster (which has a bar-code in the lower left corner) and then gave a penny rebate. I suspect this means that you might be able to buy them for a penny if you don’t want to buy anything else, but don’t bet on it.

And then we have the oh-so-cute happy little cheerful-looking balloon…of a rampaging creature of destruction. My home-town TRU has about 2 or 3 times as many as were present at the Grand Rapids store…but they didn’t have a card-table set up to attach them to.

As long as I had my camera along, I figured I might as well take advantage of the different POP displays. Here’s one of the giant PAKARI that have shown up for auction a few times.

And this one was particularly amusing. At 10-12 feet tall, this is probably the largest minifig that I have ever personally witnessed.
