First Look: TOA LHIKAN & KIKANALO

The first thing you notice about TOA LHIKAN as you open the bag to build him is that his armor is not nearly as gold in person as it appears on the box. It is more of a bronze color and not quite as shiny. The next thing you notice though is that his tools are absolutely huge . As expected, you can combine the two to form TOA LHIKAN’s surfboard. You will need to use one of TOA LHIKAN’s hands (or some other barrel connector, not included with the set) if you want to connect the tools together without them falling apart.

TOA LHIKAN is pretty much your average, everyday TOA, from a construction point of view anyway. I do give him considerable style points for his color scheme. If you click the thumbnail, you will see a comparison of TOA LHIKAN and TOA VAKAMA.

KIKANALO is not your average, everyday Rahi however. KIKANALO is instead an impressive collection of BIONICLE® parts from all generations of the toys, including two of the previously commercially-unavailable Chronicler’s Staffs. The colors range from black to grey to silver, with a handfull of indescribable metallics thrown into the mix for the backbone and thighs. Most surprising is the KIKANALO’s mostly humanoid form. It is only in the final steps when you add his head and tail that he takes on a more beastly quality.

All in all, TOA LHIKAN & KIKANALO are a must-have set, both for the building experience and the unique parts within.
